The Living Room
Here, I'll try to provide a panoramic...
Our hand-me-down couch. Ryan made the beautiful oak coffee table top (the black iron base is from Ikea)(so is the blue pot under the tree)(and the stand the pot is on)(and the two white pots on the entertainment center)(and the chair in the top picture).
I'm sensing a trend here...hmm.
...Boxes for re-packing...
We never actually emptied the bookshelf boxes since having moved from the condo, since we knew they would have to be packed up again during construction. So for now, the bookshelves just hold random odds and ends.
Notice the popsickle stick train bridge on top of the bookshelves? Ryan made it at camp...last year.
Poor sad fireplace tools, for a fireplace we no longer have and will probably never have. What to do, what to do.
Everyone hangs blueprints on the middle of their living room walls, don't they? Flanked by storm windows?
You can't tell from the photos, but this wall and every other single wall AND CEILING in our house is covered with gritty textured paint, sometimes over wallpaper. Even the baseboards, crown moldings, and trim in the bathroom is textured. The only smooth ceiling in the house is in our bedroom, but fear not, that ceiling has "texture" of its own: a long crack from the movers hauling junk out of the attic. So we have a hole in our bedroom wall AND ceilling.
