"Raise the Ranch"  This
site is dedicated to one young couple's journey of turning a little 1950s
ranch into a classic, traditionally-styled Colonial, with all its detail
and symmetry. My lifelong love of classic Victorian architecture would
not let me settle for a modern, builder's addition, but we are certainly
in no position to build a full bells-and-whistles Victorian. So we've
done some studying up and have together found a new passion: Colonials.
So if we get it right, our "new" house will look like its been
around for centuries.
The framing and roofing of the addition will be handled by contractors, but after that, we're on our own *she says with fingers crossed*. We know our dreams of crown molding, pocket doors, and hardwood floors are years away from completion, but hopefully this site will keep you entertained until we get there.
